My Story

     My family roots grow deep in Southern Mississippi where my family has farmed for many generations. Along with whatever cash crop the family grew, there was a household vegetable garden as well as a pleasure garden “to feed the soul." I attribute my love of gardens and nature in general to Grandma Ada, with whom I spent most of my days off from school through out my childhood and even into my college years. During this time, I spent many hours hiking through the woodlands in the area collecting native plants. My mother instilled in me at a very early age a love and appreciation for art. The choice to pursue landscape architecture and garden design was not surprising to anyone who knew me growing up. I have been able to combine my two loves ( art and nature ) in one vocation. Now over 45 years later, I still love what I do.
